So How Did This Happen Anyway???
About 10 years ago, I saw a picture of alpacas and absolutely fell in love at first sight. After a few months of convincing my husband that I REALLY had to have some, we started our new business. We grew to 60 animals and had a wonderful time making friends in the business as well as meeting new breeders.
Last year, I was offered a very exciting educational position on an island in the Caribbean! It was an offer I couldn't refuse. The down side, of course, was that we couldn't take all of our animals with us. We sold the whole herd and left for the Caribbean in January 09. After 6 months of sunshine and beaches, Duane's mother had some health problems and we decided we needed to return to Arizona.
Of course, my first thought when we returned was how lonely it would be back on the farm without all of my alpacas. So here we are, going back into the alpaca business.
